One of the worst things that can happen on a cold winter night is to lose your heat – be proactive by getting your fuel tank tested and cleaned today.

Clean Fuels Associates stands behind the work of our experienced technicians. If you have any problem with your fuel after you receive our service, we will come back at no additional cost to make sure your fuel is clean.

To clean your home tank we will need straight down access into your tank and at least 8 – 10 inches of clearance above that access point. Generally, if you can insert a yard stick into your tank and have a straight shot to the bottom, we can do the work. It is also highly recommended to have between ½ – ¾ of a tank of fuel for optimal cleaning.

Stay Warm This Winter

When it comes to heat, you have options. Electric, Natural Gas, Solar, Geothermal and petrol fuel oil. There is no doubt that electric heat is expensive and regardless of the visual absence of pollution, it still takes fuel, coal or nuclear power to produce that electricity. Natural gas creates a Methane emission which is known to be far more dangerous than Carbon Dioxide. While Solar and Geothermal heating systems are being developed, they are still inefficient for dependable winter long heating needs. This leaves us with petroleum fuel oil.

In places like New York City, all buildings are required to change from #6 and #4 heating or boiler oil to #2 fuel oil to reduce the harmful emissions associated with burning dirty fuel. With this change comes a new environmental and preventative maintenance responsibility, Fuel Preventative Maintenance. Because of the changes in fuel over the past decade, it is imperative to keep your fuel in its most optimal condition.
